History of Photography: Early Cameras to Instagram
Photography techniques have evolved considerably since the days of early cameras. Photography as an art form experienced something of a renaissance when smartphones came along. Far from being dead, apps such as Instagram rejuvenated it as an art form.
This projected image of a tartan ribbon is taken from an infographic by Overgram, an app that adds text to Instagram photos, details the evolution of photography from its birth in 1826 to modern-day usage on social networks. It’s the first colour photograph taken in 1861 by Scottish physicist James Clerk Maxwell.
